Dr jur Rudolf Brandt was born on 2 June 1909 in Frankfurt/Oder. Stenographer. NSDAP member (NSDAP No. 1,331,536) and SS member (SS No. 129,771).
SS-Obersturmbannführer since 20 April 1942.
SS-Standartenführer since 20 April 1944.
Brandt was Personal Administrative Officer to Himmler, and Ministerial Counsellor and Chief of the Ministerial Office in the Reich Ministry of the Interior.

He was put on trial by an American military tribunal at Frankfurt/Main in the "Medical Case", on 9 Dec 1946, convicted 19 Aug 1947 and sentenced to death on 20 Aug 1947. Brandt was hanged at Landsberg am Lech on 2 June 1948.

Brandt was probably captured in Bremervörde on 21 or 22 May 1945, together with other members of Himmler's flight group.
